About: The School of Art & Design has brought together a community of internationally known artists and scholars. Guides as well as pioneers in their fields, our faculty lead students through contemporary artistic exploration and research, production and exhibition. In achieving this vision, the faculty have developed a comprehensive, cross-disciplinary curriculum, beginning with the Foundation year. Foundation introduces freshmen to the basics of studio art practice and concepts. The sophomore year increases each student's base of knowledge by working in four different studio disciplines. Juniors naturally begin to build a portfolio of ideas and technical skills that direct their studio practice and academic studies. This expansive year of exploration continues until the final semester of the senior year when students conclude their four years by creating and exhibiting a completed body of work, artist statement, and slides for evaluation during their final critique.
